Clergy Tasks Christians On Interfaith Peaceful Co-existence, Emphasises Salvation Through Christ
Emmanuel Awari, Jalingo
Christians have been charge to emulate Jesus Christ on the importance of living in peace amongst themselves and other religions.
The Resident Pastor, Reform Church of Christ for Nations, RCCN, Magami, Jalingo, Rev. Elisha Eyap gave the charge while delivering his Christmas message to the congregation on Christmas day.
He took his text from the Book of Isaiah 9:6,  2:4, title his message, “The Prince of Peace” said that he is referring to the peace that Jesus brought.
“Many people follow different ways to make peace with God. Some follow rituals, but couldn’t make it, some did righteousness, by doing all what they know, others through their richness, but upon all these, they couldn’t make peace with God. The good news today is that through the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we can make it with God.
“The peace we have is by his grace. Jesus Christ is our peace with God and our Salvation is everlasting life.
He disclosed that for one to get peace, one must have good relationship with God.
“If God say do this and you refuse, you cannot get his peace, so if you want to have peace, obey what God is saying, don’t be anxious of anything. Everything that comes your way, pray to God and you will have peace of God.
“Tell President Mohammadu Buhari that if he want Nigerians to live in peace, justice, righteousness should be done, stop the burning of Churches, Mosques and there will be Universal peace.
“If the entire world would experience this peace, we don’t need to burn Churches and Mosques or fighting each other.
“God has reconcile us together in fellowship and has made peace with us.
“We are celebrating the coming of Christ in the flesh. God is a Spirit, but he came into the world in flesh. The Angel brought the message that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
He pointed out that Jesus Christ is the King of Kings of this world and that he perform miracle by healing a criple and he wake up and start walking.
“If you disagree that Jesus Christ is not Lord, you will be forced to agree on the last day. He is the greatest Teacher, Mathematician and Professor.
On the coming Elections, he said, “We are sure that it will be free and fair. We should not fight because of positions and there should be justice.
One of the worshiper, Josephine Joseph could not hide her feeling.
“I call on Nigerians to live in peace with each other. We don’t have any country than Nigeria and no state than Taraba State, we should pray for peace and embrace each other,” she said.
