Rev. Ande Emmanuel, Presiding Pastor of the United Methodist Church in Nigeria, Negatava, Jalingo, has encouraged Christians to trust in God and overcome fear. In his sermon, titled “Do not be afraid, but have faith,” he emphasized that belief in Jesus Christ provides the strength to face challenges.
“We live in a world filled with fear, but we must learn to believe in Jesus and compose ourselves in prayers,” Rev. Emmanuel said. “Whatever situation we find ourselves in, we should have faith in God.”
He prophesied that July would be a holy and blessed month, bringing peace and no disturbances. “Tell anyone who wants to disturb you that ‘No parking,'” he said.
Rev. Emmanuel emphasized that God can change situations for the better and encouraged believers to surrender to Him, rather than boasting about earthly possessions. “Our breath is in the hands of God, and when He takes it, we become nothing,” he reminded the congregation.
The service included scriptural readings from Mark 5:21-46, 2 Samuel 1:1,17-27, and 2 Corinthians 8:7-15. Rev. Emmanuel’s message of faith and hope resonated with the congregation, inspiring them to trust in God amidst life’s challenges.
