A political support group, the Iliya Kefas Alhaji Coalition, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, as well as Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas and his deputy, Zainab Ibrahim, popularly known as Anty Zee, for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Saturday at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo during a mobilisation rally attended by hundreds of supporters drawn from the 16 Local Government Areas and two Special Development Areas of Taraba State.
The leader of the coalition, Hon. Iliya Kefas Alhaji, said the decision was based on what the group described as the achievements and ongoing initiatives of the two administrations in security, education, agriculture, human capital development, infrastructure and economic development.
He commended President Tinubu for what he described as efforts to address challenges confronting the country, particularly in security, infrastructure, agriculture and human capital development.
“Giving the President another term would provide an opportunity for his administration to consolidate the policies and programmes already initiated for national development,” he said.
The coalition leader said Governor Agbu Kefas had demonstrated commitment to improving the welfare of the people through interventions in education, security, agriculture, infrastructure and other sectors.
“We are here to endorse our papa, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Governor Agbu Kefas for a second term in office,” he said.
He appealed to Tarabans to support the two leaders, assuring that the coalition would continue to mobilise citizens in support of their programmes.
He disclosed that the state government’s sanitation initiative had provided jobs for more than 10,000 youths and women across the state.
Speaking, Mrs Victoria Markus said President Tinubu deserved another opportunity to consolidate his administration’s programmes, while describing Governor Kefas’ interventions in education, security, agriculture, infrastructure and the economy as worthy of recognition.
Also speaking, Adamu Usman said the endorsement was an expression of the group’s confidence in the continuity of the two administrations. He urged supporters to sustain their mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
The event featured solidarity messages and other support activities, with participants drawn from across Taraba State.
The coalition’s endorsement adds to the political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, as political groups and supporters across the state continue to declare their positions on the forthcoming polls.
