The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has commended officers and men of the Corps for what he described as exceptional resilience, professionalism and courage during Christmas travel operations across the country.

Mr Mohammed gave the commendation in an address to personnel, following the successful management of heavy vehicular traffic recorded during the festive period.

The FRSC boss noted that their untiring commitment and well-coordinated interventions were instrumental in clearing major traffic gridlocks on critical corridors nationwide, including the congested Lokoja axis.

According to him, the ability of personnel to effectively confront intense traffic pressure, extended working hours, harsh weather conditions and high vehicular volumes is highly commendable.

“They also maintain discipline and professionalism, demonstrated the Corps’ readiness and capacity to safeguard lives even under the most demanding circumstances,” he said.

Mr Mohammed said that FRSC personnel rose beyond the call of duty by standing firm, working tirelessly and delivering results at a time Nigerians needed them most.

“The courage, endurance and professionalism displayed during the Christmas travels reaffirm the Corps’ commitment to safer roads and seamless mobility across the nation,” he said.

He emphasised that the successful management of traffic during the festive season reflected the Corps’ growing operational efficiency, improved inter-unit coordination and strong leadership at all levels.

He also acknowledged the sacrifices made by officers who remained on duty while others celebrated with their families, describing such dedication as the true hallmark of service and patriotism.

The Corps marshal urged all personnel to sustain the tempo remain vigilant and continue to uphold the core values of the Corps, as traffic volume is expected to remain high toward the New Year festivities.

He reassured Nigerians of the FRSC’s continued resolve to ensure safer highways and hitch-free travels nationwide.

The Corps marshal reiterated that the FRSC remained committed to its statutory mandate of reducing road crashes, promoting responsible road use and protecting lives on Nigerian roads.
