C’River ADC Candidates Back Atiku for 2027 Presidential Race ‎

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates in Cross River State have thrown their weight behind former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, endorsing him as the party’s preferred presidential flagbearer ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎

‎The endorsement was contained in a collective statement issued on Monday after what the candidates described as wide consultations with party members, stakeholders, and grassroots supporters across the state.

‎According to the statement, the decision followed a consensus built on the belief that Nigeria requires experienced and inclusive leadership capable of restoring confidence in governance, strengthening democratic institutions, and driving economic recovery.

‎

‎The candidates said Atiku Abubakar stands out as a leader with the political experience and national outlook needed to advance unity, development, and participatory governance in the country.

‎

‎The statement read in part: “We, the duly nominated candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Cross River State, after extensive consultations with our supporters, stakeholders, and grassroots structures across the state, hereby unanimously endorse the candidacy of H.E. Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the ADC at this critical moment in our nation’s history.”

‎

‎It further noted that their endorsement was anchored on Atiku’s record of commitment to democratic principles, economic reforms, and inclusive national development, which they believe aligns with the party’s vision.

‎

‎“As candidates representing the hopes and aspirations of the people of Cross River State under the ADC platform, we believe his leadership experience and national outlook will benefit our state and provide a credible pathway toward rebuilding Nigeria,” the statement added.

‎

‎The group also called on party members and supporters to rally behind the decision, stressing the need for unity in pursuit of national renewal, justice, prosperity, and accountable governance.
