The Paramount Ruler of Akpabuyo Local Government Area in Cross River south, Etinyin Maurice Ekpenyong who was abducted by unknown gunmen Monday night has been rescued by officers of the Nigerian Navy on a routine patrol along Calabar -Oron waterways
A competent source disclosed that the kidnappers were intercepted by the Naval squad last night when they attempted to ferry the royal father to Oron through the Atlantic Ocean.
In the ensuing gun duel, 10 kidnappers were gunned down while the Navy recorded no casualty.

Similarly, a Bolt driver (name disclosed) narrowly escaped being kidnapped around 9:30 pm yesterday after gunmen in a minibus overtook and blocked his vehicle along Nelson Mandela Street by Target in Calabar.
