Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Gantry Price to N1,250

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced its petrol gantry price by N25 per litre, bringing it down from N1,275 to N1,250.

A senior official of the Dangote Group confirmed the development on Saturday, speaking on condition of anonymity as he was not authorised to speak publicly on the matter.

According to him, the downward adjustment was influenced by the recent fall in global crude oil prices, though he cautioned that the market remains unstable.

“We have reduced the petrol price to N1,250 at our gantry. This has to do with the current reduction in global oil prices, though everything is still volatile and requires caution,” the official said.

The latest adjustment reflects ongoing fluctuations in depot pricing across the downstream petroleum market.

Data from petroleumprice.ng showed that some depots operated by Aiteo and NIPCO were selling petrol at about N1,272 per litre, while Integrated Energy, Ascon, and African Terminal were pricing around N1,274 per litre—still slightly above the refinery’s new gantry rate.

The price cut is expected to influence market trends within the downstream sector, particularly among marketers who source products directly from the refinery.

In recent months, petrol prices in Nigeria have experienced sharp increases, largely driven by global crude oil movements. Pump prices in many parts of the country rose from about N830 per litre to around N1,300 per litre.

Other petroleum products, including diesel and aviation fuel, also recorded significant price increases during the same period, putting additional pressure on businesses and transport operators nationwide.
