The Diplomatic Correspondents’ Association of Nigeria (DICAN) has extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed ambassadors of Korea, Tunisia, and Zambia to Nigeria.
“DICAN congratulates Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nigeria, Vice-Admiral Kim Pan Kyu, Ambassador Antit Mohsen of Tunisia and High Commissioner Muhali Imbuwa of Zambia,” said a statement by DICAN Chairman IDEHAI Frederick.
The Association offered its support to the new ambassadors, stressing the importance of collaboration for effective media coverage. “DICAN called for partnership with the new-appointed Ambassadors, High Commissioner and the diplomatic community in order for their embassies to be properly reported as well as given quality media coverage to sustain the existing ties with their host country, Nigeria,” the statement continued.
DICAN also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), urging the President to employ every diplomatic channels possible to persuade Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger to return to ECOWAS.
The statement also urged Tinubu to uphold his administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” in line with Nigeria’s foreign policy direction anchored on democracy, developments, demography and diaspora (4D).
