APC Chieftain and 2023 gubernatorial aspirant in Taraba State, Chief David Sabo Kente (DSK), has agreed to donate a 220-hectare plot of land worth over N1Billion to the Taraba State government. This generous gesture is part of activities marking his 60th birthday anniversary.
The request for the land donation was made by Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State during a Thanksgiving service honoring Chief Kente’s birthday. Governor Kefas emphasized the need for a General Hospital in Wukari, stating, “The Taraba State government has no General Hospital within Wukari. We are set to establish one now.”
In response to the governor’s request, Chief Kente expressed his willingness to donate the land, saying, “The governor made the request to me during the Thanksgiving service in honour of my birthday yesterday. I have decided to donate the land to the state government to construct the General Hospital.”
Chief Kente highlighted the importance of prioritizing the lives of his people, adding, “I am looking forward to seeing that he keeps to his promise by establishing the hospital on time.” He also clarified that his decision to donate the land was not motivated by the promise to name the hospital after him, but rather to provide a vital service to the community.
As Chief Kente succinctly put it, “Better a hospital built that will serve all.”
