Ebor Sons & Daughters, A Group With Developmental Acumen

Ebor-Orogun is one of the communities in the Orogun Clan (Kingdom) in Ughelli-North Local Government Area of Delta State. Its Annual Conference ended on Sunday December 24, 2023 with the election of the President-General of the Ebor Development Union (EDU), where Mr. Friday Obaro Watemi, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria emerged winner.
The emergence of Ebor Sons & Daughters Group under the Chairmanship of Mr. Lucky Eyonobor has complemented the efforts of the Ebor Development Union in ensuring the development of Ebor community as well as making sure unity is established among all quarters and peace is stabilized and sustained.
The group which was created by few persons from the community last year has attracted numerous sons and daughters of Ebor community who bought into the vision of the founders of the group has joined hands to ensure that the community returned to its past glory and be a point of reference among other communities in the Orogun clan.
Due to the transparent and honest accountability of the group leaders, members of the Ebor Sons & Daughters always contribute for the community development, willingly and joyfully when called upon to do so. They have handled key developments in the community among which are the restoration of solar water system, fixing of the secondary school student chairs and desks, Signboard for the primary school, intervention of WAEC sanctions on the community secondary school. The group also contributed the sum of N160,000.00 (one hundred and sixty thousand naira only) to the Ebor Development Union at the just concluded Annual Conference of the Union.
The Ebor Sons & Daughters have initiated several peace meetings within the community which were fruitful and commendable. The immensely contributed to the peaceful election that took place at the just concluded Annual Conference of the EDU. They are determined to join hands with the EDU to ensure that the community is reckoned among developed communities in the Orogun clan and beyond.
The newly elected President-General of the EDU, Mr Friday Obaro Watemi, who has identified with the Ebor Sons & Daughters Group has called for their continuous support in order to move the community to the developmental level they are all yearning for.
The affairs of the Sons & Daughters is being piloted by the Chairman, Lucky Eyonobor, Peter Ufuoma Ibeh as the Secretary, Festus Odiru Financial Secretary, Omoefe Marvelous Treasurer, Dorothy Ohwofasa and Felicia Emo as Women Leaders, Abuwa Sylvester and Best Ovakporai Public Relation Officers, Tony Ibeh member, Dennis Orogun and Duru Nixon Ufuoma as Advisers.
