The Deputy Minority Leader of Ghanian Parliament, Hon Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has emerged a Members of Ghanian delegation to Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament.
Buah, who represents Baku Central replaces Mahama Ayariga, who resigned not to be part of the next 6th Parliament as Ghana recomposes its delegation to the next Parliament.
This was contained in the report of the leadership on the re-composition of the members of the ECOWAS Parliament and the Pan-African Parliament which has been laid in the House on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
Article 18 clause (a) (ii) of the Supplementary Act A/SA 1/12/16 relating to the enhancement of the powers of the ECOWAS Parliament provides that a seat of a representative becomes vacant in the case of a written resignation to the speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament.
Hon Mahama Ayariga has been replaced by the Deputy Minority Leader Hon Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah.
Following the nomination of some members of the two delegations to serve in the Executive and the written resignation of a member of the ECOWAS Parliament, it has become imperative to replace the affected Members on the delegations to the ECOWAS Parliament and the Pan-African Parliament.
In addition, Hon Musah Ayaba Abdul-Aziz who has been nominated as a deputy Minister per Article 19 of the supplementary Act has been replaced by Hon Abdul-Razak Tahidu.
