The President of National Council for the Transition of Guinea, Rt. Hon. Dr. Dansa Kourouma has restated his country’s commitment to regional cooperation and democratic values.
He stated in a speech at the ongoing ECOWAS Parliament delocalised meeting which kicked off today, in Conakry, Republic of Guinea. He expressed gratitude to ECOWAS representatives for their presence in Guinea, emphasising the significance of regional cooperation.
“We consider the holding of these proceedings on Guinean soil as a recognition of our efforts towards transition and reconstruction,” Dr. Kourouma stated, highlighting Guinea’s appreciation for ECOWAS’ support.

The President acknowledged the challenges facing the region, saying, “How can we ignore the fact that our regional community is facing disaffection here and there?” He stressed the need for solidarity among West African nations.
Dr. Kourouma reaffirmed Guinea’s commitment to democratic values, inclusivity, and participation in the constitutional reform process. “We have ensured that this return to normalcy aligns with the principles of inclusion and participation that we have imposed on ourselves,” he emphasised.
The meeting, themed “Promoting Healthcare Services and Education in West Africa: The Role of ECOWAS Parliament,” brings together members of the Joint Committee on Health, Education, Science, and Culture, the Telecommunications and Information Technology Commission, and the Industry and Private Sector Commission.
The gathering aimed at sharing experiences and best practices in promoting health and education in the region.
