The Northern Emancipation Network, has come down hard on Frank Tietie for his recent remarks on the face off between Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle and Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, saying they are incoherent flip-flops.
The Northern Network in a short and sharp response by its Chairman, Suleiman Abbah, said the remarks by Tietie were as untrue as the man himself is fake.
Abbah said: “We noticed the proliferation of comments since the Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle dared the EFCC chairman to be holistic and not selective in the conduct of his job as demanded by the enabling statute that established the agency.
“The latest is from an obscure joker and self-acclaimed public affairs analyst, by the name Frank Tietie, who ventured the most unsophisticated, uncouth and unresearched piece in defense of the EFCC and its Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa.
“The man ignorantly assumed that Matawalle ought to have released the evidence in his possession to a biased public such as the one he represents, and not to a court of competent jurisdiction.
“In his ignorance of criminal justice procedures, Tietie missed the fact that the mere allegation by Matawalle is enough to initiate a probe that will lead to appearance in court where strict proof will be required.
“Tietie, also deliberately or ignorantly failed to make mention of the circumstances that led a court law that recently committed Bawa to prison for contempt in connection with an investigation of scandals running into billions of dollars against the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.
“Besides, the hired commentator could not point at what is really wrong with a person reminding a government agency as important as the EFCC of its obligation under the law.”
It lamented that the media space has of recent been infested by all manner of nonentities, who collect crumbs to churn out rubbish for public consumption.
Add that, “Every sane and responsible Nigerian cannot but reason with Matawalle or any other leader with the courage to point out the several inconsistencies and contradictions in the EFCC or any other government agency.”
