England beat co-hosts Mexico in a five-goal thriller in the round of 16 2026 World Cup match to set up a quarter-final game with Norway.
Jarell Quansah was red-carded in the 54th minute for a challenge on Jesus Gallardo. Yet Jude Bellingham scored a brace, leaving the Mexico City Stadium shellshocked.
Julian Quinones fired a shot past Jordan Pickford to make it 2-1.
The drama continued as Mexico goalkeeper Raul Rangel brought down Anthony Gordon in the penalty box. Harry Kane converted the penalty, scoring his sixth goal of the tournament.
The score was 3-1.
But Mexico would not give up easily and had their own penalty after a VAR review. Raul Jimenez made it 3-2.
There was no dramatic comeback for the 2026 World Cup co-host. Only the United States are still in the World Cup, with Canada and Mexico dumped out of the tournament.
England will face Norway in Miami on Saturday.
