The family of Dr. Musa Dutse Gimba has commended the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, for their pivotal roles in the successful rescue operation.
Dr. Gimba made this commendation shortly the couple was reunited with their three surviving children after a harrowing kidnapping experience that resulted in the tragic death of their eldest son.
“We are forever grateful for the swift and decisive action taken by the Office of the National Security Adviser and the Chief of Defence Staff,” Dr. Gimba said in a statement. “Their leadership and expertise were instrumental in reuniting us with our children.”
The family expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the outpouring of love and support from various individuals and groups, including professional bodies, NGOs, religious bodies, family, friends, and well-meaning individuals.
“We are humbled by the overwhelming support and kindness shown to us during this difficult time,” Dr. Gimba said. “We are grateful for the prayers, words of encouragement, and support that have sustained us.”
The family also acknowledged the support of the University of Jos M.B.B.S. classes of 2004 and 2005, the 2007 Law class of ABU Zaria, and the Great Panaf Schools, Kaduna.
“May God bless and reward everyone who has shown us kindness and support,” Dr. Gimba said. “May we never experience such a harrowing experience again, and may God protect us all from harm.”
