Abuja, Nigeria – The Coordinator of the FCT LEA Teachers’ Forum, Abdulsalam Haruna, has written an open letter to the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Abuja, highlighting pressing issues affecting the city’s residents.
In the letter dated February 4, 2026, Haruna appreciated the Minister’s efforts in infrastructure development but expressed concern over several issues, including the non-functional Kugbo bus terminal, workers’ welfare, and refuse disposal.
“The Kugbo bus terminal, commissioned months ago, remains unused. We plead with you to expedite action to make it functional, easing traffic congestion and improving transportation in the city,” Haruna wrote.
He also urged the Minister to address the ongoing JOHESU strike, which has entered its 83rd day, and pending demands of primary school teachers and area council workers.
“Regrettably, workers’ welfare in the FCT remains a concern. Incessant strike actions by workers’ unions disrupt life in the nation’s capital. I urge you to address this issue promptly,” Haruna said.
Haruna also highlighted the issue of refuse disposal, citing heaps of garbage along Karu, on the Nyanya-Karshi road.
“We assure you, Honourable Minister, of our best regards and support. We encourage you to continue working tirelessly for the betterment of Abuja,” Haruna concluded.
