FCT Police Dismisses Alleged Planned Attack on University of Abuja rumors

FCT Police Command has said the rumors of an allegedly planned unscrupulous activities intended for abduction at the University of Abuja Campus by unspecified individuals circulating on online platforms are baseless.

Police disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Abuja by the SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer For: FCT Police Command l
Abuja.

The statement said, ” The attention of the FCT Police Command has been drawn to rumors of an allegedly planned unscrupulous activities intended for abduction at the University of Abuja Campus by unspecified individuals circulating on online platforms.

“The FCT Police Command wishes to clarify that these reports are nothing but baseless publications propagated by rumour mongers aiming at creating unfounded panic and apprehension among FCT residents and the University community.

“The Command hereby reiterates its commitment to securing and safeguarding the lives and property of residents in the FCT, as adequate deployment of personnel and equipments have been put on red alert, to contain any security situation within the FCT, which ofcourse includes the University of Abuja.”

The Command therefore urged members of the public to remain vigilant while going about their legitimate businesses and report any suspicious activity to the FCT Police Command’s emergency numbers: 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653.
