Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has expressed confidence that he will secure another term in office if the August 15 governorship election is conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.

‎The governor made the declaration on Monday while addressing supporters during his re-election campaign in Osogbo, the state capital.
‎
‎According to him, he remains optimistic about victory, saying the outcome of a credible election would favour his administration.
‎
‎”With God on my side, I am confident of victory. If this election is free and fair, I will win,” Adeleke said.
‎
‎The governor also alleged that members of the Accord Party were being attacked and killed, prompting him to appeal to President Bola Tinubu to ensure security agencies remain neutral throughout the electoral process.
‎
‎He urged the president to direct the Nigeria Police Force to carry out its duties professionally and without bias, warning against any attempt to manipulate the election or allow violence.

‎Adeleke said Nigeria’s democratic reputation was at stake, adding that the international community was closely monitoring the Osun governorship poll, which he described as an important indicator ahead of the 2027 general elections.
‎
‎The governor further appealed to eligible voters to come out in large numbers on election day, cast their ballots in his favour and remain at the polling units until the results are officially announced.
‎
‎He maintained that he was fully prepared for the election, expressing confidence that victory would be achieved through the ballot box.
