For eight months, the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas has been a breath of fresh air for Taraba State. Gone are the days of tension and unrest; in their place, residents now relish a newfound sense of unity, peace, and stability. This remarkable transformation is evident not only in the streets, but also in the words of Reverend Eric Juyoh, a respected clergyman in Jalingo.
Speaking to reporters, Rev. Juyoh expresses heartfelt gratitude for Governor Kefas’ leadership. He praises the tangible improvements brought about by the administration, from the implementation of free education to the consistent supply of electricity and ongoing road construction projects. Notably, the prompt payment of worker salaries has brought cheer to countless families throughout the state.
The Cleric who was the former National President of Mbamngah Cultural Development Association (MCDA) pointed out that the developmental stride of governor Kefas within the shortest period of time in office revealed that he needed prayer, collective support and encouragement by all Tarabans to enable him turn the state around to an enviable height.
But even more impressive than these immediate benefits, according to Rev. Juyoh, is the governor’s dedication to long-term development. He points to the revitalization of the Mbamngah Cultural Development Association (MCDA) as a testament to Kefas’ commitment to inclusivity and cultural understanding. He notes that for the first time, the association hosted a sitting governor, marking a new era of collaboration and dialogue within the community.
“We have every reason to appreciate God for the gift of gov Agbu Kefas to our dear state, his coming as the governor of the state has brought endless joy to us as a people – he said.
“We are happy, he brought free education to us, this has never happened before, I was the national president of my cultural development association for good six years, within my tenure, I know the pain of my people and I understand how difficult it was before the coming of gov kefas.
“Help was only coming to us from the present Secretary to the state government (SSG) chief Gubon Kataps and family and the former speaker of the Taraba state house of assembly, Rt. Hon Able Peter Diah who through their foundation were rendering humanitarian services to our people of Sardauna LGA by facilitating employment for our youths, scholarship and construction of bridges passage across our communities” he added.
According to him, the cultural association which came on board by the then fathers is now a platform where all sons and daughters of Mbamnga community gathered to forge a common front as well as to promote peace.
The clergyman who maintained that his regime brought all people together expressed delight his community got its first district head when the association hosted a sitting governor for the first time.
Rev. Juyoh’s call for continued support of Governor Kefas resonates strongly. He urges all Tarabans to “remain law abiding and support gov Kefas to enable him provide more dividend of democracy in the state.” This sentiment echoes the widespread hope that, under Kefas’ leadership, Taraba will finally unlock its full potential and become a beacon of prosperity and peace for generations to come.
