Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker, has issued a statement on his future amid intense speculation surrounding his potential departure from Galatasaray. The 26-year-old, who joined the Turkish club on loan from Napoli last summer, has been linked with moves to several top European clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
“Today was an unforgettable day, with our 25th title and our fifth star,” Osimhen told reporters. “We will make a decision soon. It will be decided what is best for you. Galatasaray will always be in my heart.”
While many interpreted Osimhen’s words as a potential goodbye to Galatasaray, the club’s vice president, İbrahim HatipoÄŸlu, has downplayed the speculation. “His words don’t mean he’s leaving,” HatipoÄŸlu said. “He said that even if he left in the worst-case scenario, Galatasaray would always be in his heart. But he didn’t say he’s leaving. We want him to stay with us.”
Osimhen has enjoyed a stellar campaign with Galatasaray, scoring 29 goals across all competitions, including 21 in the Turkish Super Lig. The striker’s impressive form has attracted interest from several top clubs, with Barcelona and Juventus also reportedly pursuing him.
However, Osimhen has reportedly rejected an offer from Juventus, with the English top-flight seemingly his preferred destination. Galatasaray remains determined to retain the striker’s services, but the club’s efforts to keep him may be put to the test in the coming weeks.
