Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Natasha Akpoti-Uduagan, has alleged that Governor Yahaya Bello planned to dethrone the late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, except for the intervention of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Akpoti made the allegation in an interview with Channels Television after the Court of Appeal, Abuja declared her the winner of the election.
She said Bello had vowed to remove the late Ohinoyi from office because he refused to support his political ambitions.
“Governor Bello had planned to dethrone the late Ohinoyi if not for the intervention of former President Buhari,” Akpoti said.
“He had vowed to remove him from office because the Ohinoyi refused to support his political ambitions.”
Akpoti’s allegation comes against the backdrop of a long-standing feud between her and Bello.
Bello has not yet responded to Akpoti’s allegation.
