Gov Fintiri Unveils Electric Tricycles in Adamawa

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, on Monday, unveiled the state’s E-Mobility Initiative with the rollout of electric tricycles assembled in Yola.

Mr Fintiri described the initiative as a major step toward sustainable transportation, clean energy access, and economic development in the state.

“The initiative marks the beginning of a transformational journey aimed at redefining energy access, transportation and investment opportunities across Adamawa,” he said.

He recalled that the partnership began in March 2025 during an investor roundtable organised by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

Mr Fintiri said the event enabled the state government to engage investors and showcase Adamawa’s economic potential.

According to him, the engagement resulted in a partnership with A4&T Group on mini-grids, solar energy, and clean mobility infrastructure.

The governor disclosed that over 6,000 households had benefited from Solar Home Systems deployed across eight local government areas.

The benefiting local governments, according to him, are Song, Lamurde, Jada, Fufore, Demsa, Numan, Shelleng, and Hong.

Mr Fintiri said the electric tricycles were assembled in Adamawa by Sparrow Mobility Ltd., a subsidiary of A4&T Group.

He commended the company for establishing an assembly plant in Yola and commencing local production of electric vehicles.

“The vehicles have undergone rigorous testing and are now ready to serve the people of Adamawa,” he said.

Mr Fintiri explained that the initiative would promote cleaner transportation and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

He added that financing institutions had partnered with the company to provide flexible funding for intending operators and buyers.

The governor said the initiative also included charging infrastructure and battery swap stations across the state.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding collaboration on solar power plants, mini-grid projects, and reliable energy solutions.

Mr Fintiri urged residents to embrace the initiative, describing it as a pathway to economic growth and environmental sustainability.

“Today, we are not just launching vehicles, we are driving a movement towards sustainability, prosperity and inclusive development,” he said.
