Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has earned widespread accolades from labor leaders for his administration’s efforts to improve workers’ welfare.
The commendation came during a dinner and roundtable discussion held at the Deputy Governor’s official residence in Lokoja.
Deputy Governor Joel Salifu described Governor Ododo as a “Godsent” leader, crediting his exemplary leadership for fostering a harmonious relationship between labor unions and the government.
Salifu reiterated the administration’s commitment to prioritizing workers’ welfare and assured stakeholders that these efforts would continue.
Hon. Onuh Edoka, Special Adviser to the Governor on Labor Matters, hailed the dinner as a groundbreaking event, encouraging labor leaders to sustain their partnership with the government to ensure continued peace, harmony, and progress in the state.
Comrade Gabriel Amari, Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Kogi State, applauded the government for timely payment of civil servants’ salaries and pensions, the implementation of a ₦72,500 minimum wage, and the harmonization of pensions. He noted that Kogi State serves as a model for minimum wage implementation across Nigeria’s 36 states.
Labor leaders pledged their unwavering support for the current administration and vowed to mobilize efforts to ensure its reelection.
