Taraba State Governor Dr. Abgu Kefas has been commended for ensuring peace in the state.
The Honourable Commissioner for Social Justice, Dr. Filister Irarimam Musa, made the commendation shortly after attending the Rapid Response for Peace (R2forPeace) workshop at Bureau Hall in Jalingo, the Taraba State Capital.
She also commend R2forPeace, for their efforts in organizing the workshop and express joy to be part of the peace project.
“I am happy that the project have been brought to Taraba State.
“The fusion Centre that will be established I have confident that it will work.
She added that the Secretary to the Government of the State High Chief Barr. Gebon Timothy Kataps, through his office, is in support of the project, and that Taraba State government will ensure it succeeds.
“Our Governor is peace-friendly and is on his toes to make sure there is peace in Taraba State,” she said.

The Executive Governor of Taraba State, represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Deputy Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Lawson; Dr. Echuseh Audu, Executive Secretary of the Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, represented by AC Yakubu Bala; the GOC of 6 Brigade; Prof. Tirmidhi Aliyu Baba, Chairman, TAFFAHR; Williams Ubimago, Manager/EWER; Emmanuella Rita Atsen, Program Quality Manager; Andrew Nkemneme, National Conflict Analyst; among other dignitaries.
The workshop ended up with questions,answers and contributions.
In another development, the Ministry of Social Justice, Taraba State, under the leadership of Hon. Commissioner Dr. Filister Irarimam Musa, has join Tarabans in celebrating the state Governor, His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas, on his well-earned recognition at the 2026 Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards for ”Leadership and Governance Excellence.”
This is contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner. The statement reads,
“Your Excellency, this award speaks volumes about your transformative leadership from free education and food security, to restoring peace and advancing inclusive governance that leaves no one behind.
