The former aspirant for Jalingo/Yorro and Zing Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Leah Olusiyi Solomon, has categorically denied allegations that she received money in exchange to withdraw her suit challenging the party’s primary election that produced Hon. Sadiq Abbas Tafida as its flagbearer.
‎
‎She disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists in Jalingo.
‎
‎Hon. Leah described the allegations as baseless, unfounded and an unfair misrepresentation of her character and political convictions.
‎
‎She maintained that her decision to voluntarily withdraw the suit before the Federal High Court, Jalingo, was motivated solely by her commitment to party unity, reconciliation and the collective interest of the APC.
‎
‎She explained that the decision followed extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders and party leaders, aimed at fostering unity, resolving internal disagreements and presenting a common front ahead of future political engagements.
‎
‎According to her, the decision was informed by the need to support the collective aspirations of the party and contribute to the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas. She stressed that the unity, stability and progress of the APC remain central to her political convictions.
‎
‎Hon. Leah expressed disappointment over the insinuations that she was financially induced to withdraw the case, describing such claims as a deliberate attempt by individuals to misrepresent her genuine intentions and undermine ongoing reconciliation efforts within the party.
‎
‎”If there is ANYONE who has given me money, either before or after my voluntary withdrawal of the suit, let him or her disgrace me before the whole world. I am ever ready to respond with evidence,” she said.
‎
‎She therefore urged her supporters, followers and the general public to disregard the allegations, insisting that they have no factual basis and should not be allowed to derail the reconciliation process or create unnecessary divisions within the APC.
‎
‎”As a committed member of the APC whose political vision is aligned with Governor Agbu Kefas, I would not act contrary to the party’s genuine efforts to reconcile aggrieved members following disagreements arising from the conduct of the primary elections,” she said.
‎
‎She reaffirmed her unwavering loyalty to the APC and pledged to continue respecting and abiding by the decisions of the party’s leadership in Taraba State under the leadership of Hon. Alhaji Abubakar Bawa.
‎
‎”I call on party members and stakeholders to embrace peace, mutual understanding, discipline and cooperation, emphasizing that reconciliation and collective commitment are essential to strengthening the party and achieving its political objectives,” she added.
‎
‎She reiterated her resolve to work closely with party leaders, stakeholders and supporters towards building a united, peaceful and progressive APC in Taraba State.
