More than 500 pigs have died in a fire at a feedyard in south-western Germany.
There was a total of around 900 animals in the barn in the town of Riedstadt in the Gross-Gerau district to the south of Frankfurt, the police said on Tuesday.
The reason why the fire broke out on Monday was initially unclear.

The fire has now been extinguished.
Significant property damage had occurred to the barn, but the police did not provide exact figures.
