IBB Ladies Golfers Engages 120 Children In Golf Activities

In a bid to add value and to catch them young in golf Activities, the Abuja Ladies Section of the IBB International Golf and Country Club have began a one-week 2023 Children Golf Development Program for 120 kids.
Speaking with the Lady captain of the IBB golf club ladies section, Mrs Comfort Folashade Olateju said the essence of the 2023 children’s golf development clinic with the theme “whining to greatness is to help train the young ones in playing properly the game of golf and also imbibe critical social skills that they will need for now and in their adult years.
She informed that the event is to target the children who have interest in playing golf and we do this to encourage them and teach them the technical of the game.
Also speaking, Vice lady captain of IBB golf club ladies section who is the former DG of NAPTIP, Dame Julie Donli-Okoh hinted that the motive is to catch them young. If you start playing golf early, you swing better and overtime your game will improve and never can say may turn out to be another Tiger Woods or even better.
According to her, the IBB International Golf encourages junior membership where by they have an amount they pay so they can use the rang which is just to encourage the junior ones. The essence is to help them grow up to golf loving and golf playing adult.
She noted that it is easier to be a pro Golfers when you start early, saying we do not have a pro in Nigeria that competes with other pro all over the world. So we are trying to grow as many as possible if they so desire.
She encouraged parents to engage their children in golf Activities because it is good for mental health.
A parent, madam Lauretta Okolo said she decided to engage her children to pick interest and it is good to start young unlike most of us who just find their way in, adding that it teaches them a lot of things and even help them to socialise and they will grow up to be professionals.
