A former chairman of the Cross River State Local Government Service Commission, Prince Njar Nkang-Abang has enjoined Cross Riverians to put the interest of state above parochial ethnic considerations by voting Senator Sandy Onor of the PDP as the next governor of Cross River State.
The elder statesman and seasoned technocrat stated this in Ikom during a Town Hall Meeting packaged by the People Democratic Party PDP Governorship Campaign Team to advance the candidacy of Senator Sandy Onor ahead the forthcoming election
Prince Njar Nkang Abang who expressed disappointment with proponents of the “Back To South” mantra accusing them for wanting to “perpetuate the current ineptitude crippling the state opined that voting for the next governor of the state along ethnic line rather than competence and capacity tantamount to jeopardizing the future of the state over primordial interest”
Prince Nkang-Agban said “it is disappointing that despite the woeful track record of Governor Ben Ayade which has imparted negatively on the state, some Cross Riverians are still following Ayade sheepishly due to selfish motive or myopic ethnic sentiments”
“This is the first time a government is winding up without commissioning any viable project with direct benefits to the people. Rather than building or adding value to existing infrastructure , Ayade has destroyed virtually everything he met on ground”
“The morale in our civil service is at the lowest ebb. Staff promoted since 2015 both at state and local government levels are yet to enjoy the financial benefits. Several retirees have passed on without collecting their entitlements.The entire system is grinding to a halt,yet some of our people are still clamouring for an extension of this disaster under the guise of “Back to South”
He described Senator Sandy Onor as the pride of Central Cross River noting that Ikom was proud to produce candidate with the vintage qualities needed to fast track the recovery process of the state from the prevailing decay .
In his remark, the President General, Igbo Community in Ikom Prince Agwu lauded the PDP for the visible dividend of democracy in the area and promised to mobilize effectively for the PDP
Speaking, The PDP Governorship candidate Senator Sandy Onor assured that he will transform Ikom to reflect its growing status as the commercial hub of Cross River State
