Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with Dai Hegen, Chairman of China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), in Beijing to discuss infrastructure projects between Nigeria and China.
“We are pleased to continue our partnership with CRCC, a company that has made significant contributions to Nigeria’s infrastructure development,” President Tinubu said.
Dai Hegen emphasized CRCC’s commitment to localized development in Nigeria, stating, “Nigeria is our most important overseas market, and we have successfully executed over 300 projects in the country over the past 43 years.”
The meeting aimed to enhance collaboration and sign new cooperation agreements. President Tinubu acknowledged CRCC’s contributions, particularly in railway modernization projects, and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to supporting CRCC’s future endeavors.
Dai Hegen outlined CRCC’s plans to leverage the “Belt and Road” initiative for further engagement in Nigeria’s infrastructure development, highlighting successes such as the Lekki Free Trade Zone and rail transit projects.
The meeting concluded with a shared vision for ongoing collaboration, setting the stage for a new chapter in Nigeria-China relations focused on mutual growth and development.
