Insecurity: Ukomu Igala Organization Holds Security Summit in Anyigba

In a time when the safety of lives, property, communities, and ancestral heritage has become a collective responsibility, the UKOMU IGALA ORGANIZATION convened a strategic Town Hall Meeting on Security to address the growing concerns of the people of Dekina, Omala, and Bassa Local Government Areas of Kogi State.

The gathering brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, stakeholders, security personnel, and concerned citizens under one platform to deliberate on practical and lasting solutions to the security challenges confronting the region.

The meeting served as a moment of unity, reflection, and renewed commitment towards protecting lives, property, and the future of the Igala nation. Discussions centered on strengthening community vigilance, promoting collaboration between residents and security agencies, encouraging intelligence sharing, and fostering peace among neighboring communities.

Participants emphasized that security is not the responsibility of government alone, but a collective duty requiring the cooperation of every citizen. The Town Hall Meeting also highlighted the importance of youth engagement, moral leadership, and community development as essential tools for combating crime, violence, social unrest, and other vices.

Several speakers at the occasion called for sustained dialogue, proactive measures, and stronger grassroots participation in safeguarding the land and preserving the values of peace, unity, and progress.

The event stands as a bold declaration that the people of Dekina, Omala, and Bassa are determined to rise together against insecurity and build safer communities for future generations. The meeting reaffirmed the power of unity, consultation, and collective action in addressing issues affecting the wellbeing of the people.

In a key announcement, the President of the organization, Maj. Gen. Ataguba James, said the group would offer a cash reward of at least Two Hundred Thousand Naira only (₦200,000) for any whistle-blower with credible security or intelligence information.
