The APC Senatorial Candidate (Taraba North), Senator Sani Abubakar Sani Danladi, has appreciated Tarabans for their support and Prayers during the appeal Court ruling. He use the forum to emphasise the importance of peaceful coexistence. In an interview with SUMMIT Post in Jalingo, Senator Sani appreciated the Appeal Court for doing justice to his case. Our Correspondent EMMANUEL AWARI captured the interview. Excerpts,
Your Excellency, how do you feel about the Appeal Court judgement, which ruled in your favor?
Alhamdulillah, thanks be to God. Whatever has a beginning must also has an end. I have nothing to say than thank God and the Appeal Court for following the truth and I am of the believe that they did the right thing.
After the ruling, your supporers trooped to the streets to celebrate your victory, how do you feel about this?
This is not something to inquire about, if you are doing the right things, you know and if you are not doing the right things, you know. I started my political carrer from the positions of Councilor and Chairman all in Karim Lamido Local government. I was Deputy Governor, Acting Governor and a Senator of the Federal Republic. You know that it is politics that brought me to this level. I live with the people, I listen to their needs. I don’t stay outside the state for long time without coming to jalingo two times, that was the reason why people turnout to celebrate my victory.
The ups and downs that you have been doing in Courts, do you think that this will strengthen democracy?
Yes, anyone who knows the truth knows. This appeal or not, I know it is a case. The party knows what it is doing, for it is the party that send officials to come and conduct primaries and it was conducted and a winner emerged, that is why the Court followed where the truth is.
Your Excellency, looking at Taraba and Adamawa State are neighbours and the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is from Adamawa State and they are boosting with Taraba State as their own, what does the Presidential Candidate of APC, Ahmed Bola Tinibu and Kashim Shetima has that would make a difference for people of Taraba State to vote for them?
Yes, it is what you know. I know my party. Bola Tinibu is a politician and he has served us, so it is time we pay him back by voting him to rule this country. He has done a lot which I have seen and God make him a party leader, then why won’t we support him. So, I am calling on every APC and none APC members to come together and vote for them. Today, if we give this person, tomorrow we will give another person. If this Geo political zone rule, then another should rule. So, I am calling on people to support Ahmed Bola Tinibu and Kashim Shetima for us to see their leadership style and pray that God will lead them.
You are an APC stakeholder in the North East, what assurance would you give people that what have been started by the present administration
would be continued, especially, the Oil that have started in the North East?
This is what you all know that in the journey, the North East is not left behind. Tinibu is an old politician and if he destroy the existing work, God will hold him responsible, that is why I don’t want to stand on the promises of politicians for out of Ten promises, hardly you get seven, so it is Prayers that we will offer for God to give us credible leaders and pray that they fulfill all promises they make.
Your party the APC is in different Courts at the Governorship level, are you sure that this will come out with good result?
As you know, any political party that is in court, is a party that is much acceptable by the people. If you look at people, they go for small parties to get cheap tickets that they will not go for primaries nor struggle. One should proof himself by joining the strong Parties and let him struggle in the party. It is a culture in election that if one wins another would say no he didn’t agree, so therefore he will go to court. This makes the party acceptable or it proof it’s acceptability, so Court cases should not scare you, for God will do his judgement and whoever wins, it is the will of God for him to win. Even in your house there are series of complains, but that doesn’t hinder peaceful living. APC is in court, even PDP are also in court, so no party that is not in court, but that doesn’t hinder relationship. I swear to God that whoever wins, I will follow, for I know that it is the will of God. Leadership is of God and he gives to whom he wishes, so fighting in court should not surprise you, for that is democracy for you.
Your Excellency, is there anything you want to say which was not ask?
Yes, it is fine. What I want to draw our attention to in Taraba State is that we should live in peace with each other and should stop fighting each other. There are blessings here in Taraba State. You Journalists, I want to draw your attention, since you ask me is there anything which I want to say or add that you didn’t ask me.
“Yes, I will give you answer. Please stand between you and God and report what you think that will not bring crisis in the state and the country. All the happenings, 99 percent are coming from you people.
What somebody didn’t say, you go and frame or amplified it. So fear God, for he will ask you on the last day. If you say the good, you will see good and if you say bad, you will see bad. I am pleading with you to ensure that you report what will not raise tension in Taraba State. Fear God and say and do good. I am also pleading with we politicians to ensure that there is peace, for none of us would like to see any form of crisis. Both the Journalists, Voters, Politicians and the masses, may God give us peace and have peaceful Elections in 2023. I am praying that all Elections would be peaceful without any hiches.
What call do you have for those that contested with you?
I know that is painful. I entered Court and I succeeded and not succeed, so I know the painfulness, but I am pleading with them to understand that we want to serve Taraba State so there is need for us not to fight, anybody that have move forward, he has gone forward, we should not come back fighting each other. I am pleading with them and their supporers to come and join hands together and build our party.
What is your message to the people of your constituents (Jalingo, Ardo Kola, Lau, Karim Lamido, Zing and Yorro) local governments?
Thank God, I have nothing to say than to thank them for their gesture. I will not betray them, for I know the truth. If I betray them, tomorrow I will see the truth. I am thanking them for the honor on me. I am pleading to any of them that I have offended to please forgive me. This term politics is showing itself, if you stand by the truth, the truth will reveal itself. If you stand by lies, God will reveal it to you, for this is the reason I am pleading with the people to exercise patient and give me their support and I will not disappoint them.
