Abuja – January 1, 2026 – The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has called on Nigerians to replace pessimism with optimism and face the future with renewed confidence and faith as the country welcomes a new year.
In a press release issued on December 31, 2025, by IPAC National Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Dabo Danttalle, expressed gratitude to God for His mercy, guidance, and protection throughout 2025 and urged citizens to recommit themselves to strengthening democracy and improving national life.

“Nation-building is a collective responsibility. Every citizen has a role to play in fostering a peaceful, just and prosperous society,” Danttalle stated.
The council emphasized that the new year presents an opportunity to consolidate democracy, promote national unity, safeguard security, and stimulate wealth creation.
“We call on Nigerians to be proactive and engaged in issues that affect their lives, noting that the price of freedom, good governance and prosperity is eternal vigilance,” IPAC said.
IPAC also urged politicians to shun violence, bitterness, and electoral malpractices, embracing issue-based politics instead.
“We charge INEC to adequately prepare for upcoming elections and guarantee a level playing field for all political parties,” IPAC added.
The council highlighted the importance of citizen participation in the democratic process, including voter registration and forthcoming elections.
“Despite the nation’s turbulent political experiences, Nigerians have consistently demonstrated resilience and determination in their resolve to build a better and greater country. This enduring spirit remains a source of hope and strength,” IPAC noted.
As Nigeria looks forward to the FCT Area Council elections, Ekiti and Osun governorship elections, IPAC’s call for unity, patriotism, and issue-based politics sets the tone for a hopeful 2026.
