‎Islamic Family Expands Medical Outreach, Feeding Programmes in Abuja

The Islamic Family Foundation (IFF), on Thursday, intensified its humanitarian and community development initiatives in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), providing medical outreach, feeding programmes and family-centred Islamic education.

‎‎The foundation said its activities were aimed at translating Islamic teachings into practical acts of compassion, strengthening family values and improving the welfare of vulnerable members of society.

‎‎In a statement, the Lead Imam of the foundation, Engr. Musa Daud, said the organisation remained committed to supporting underserved communities through healthcare services, food assistance, spiritual guidance and long-term investments in education and social welfare.

‎‎According to him, the foundation’s medical outreach programmes have brought essential healthcare services closer to communities across the FCT, particularly areas where access to medical facilities remains limited, while constructing a multi-billion-naira International Halal Centre in Wasa District, Abuja.

‎The outreach includes free medical consultations, basic treatments, health education and wellness support, delivered with an emphasis on dignity and professionalism.

‎‎Daud said: “In the heart of Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, the Islamic Family Foundation (IFF) is writing a quiet but powerful story of service, faith and community transformation through medical outreach, regular feeding of people in need, and weekly family-centred Usrah gatherings, while constructing a major multi-purpose facility in Wasa District.

‎‎“Healing bodies and strengthening communities
The foundation’s medical outreach programmes have brought essential healthcare closer to underserved communities across the FCT. Free consultations, basic treatments, health education and wellness support form the core of these efforts.

‎‎“In areas where access to clinics remains limited, the IFF medical team has stepped in to meet immediate needs. Services are delivered with dignity and professionalism, and the programmes continue to expand with the valued support of partners such as the PAYIMO Charity Foundation.

‎‎“Feeding people in need as an act of faith. In line with the Prophetic teaching that “a person is not a true believer when he goes to bed with a full stomach while his neighbour goes to bed feeling hungry,” the Islamic Family Foundation runs regular feeding programmes for people in need.

‎‎“Food support is provided with care and respect throughout the year and intensifies during seasonal pressures and festivities.

‎Usrah for families, young adults and children. On Sundays, the foundation hosts an Usrah session that brings families together to discuss faith, personal development and community concerns.

‎‎“These gatherings serve as spiritual and social anchors where parents and children study Islamic teachings, strengthen family bonds and nurture faith-based values.”

‎‎The organisation also appealed to Muslims to demonstrate greater patience, understanding and compassion in their relationships with one another, particularly during difficult times.

‎‎He urged members of the Muslim Ummah to exercise restraint in their speech, support vulnerable people and remain steadfast in the face of hardship.

‎‎He added, “Islamic Family Foundation’s long-term goal is to complete its International Halal Centre in Wasa District, Abuja. The planned complex will include a mosque, a school and facilities to promote social enterprise, economic development and community welfare.

‎‎“When completed, the centre will serve as a hub for spiritual development, education, mentoring, family support and community welfare. The multi-billion-naira project will provide education in Islamic studies, IT and skills training, family counselling, welfare, agriculture and food projects, while embracing green and sustainable energy.

‎‎“Islamic Family Foundation respectfully calls on well-meaning individuals within Nigeria and across the international community, community organisations, well-wishers and partners of goodwill to lend their support.

‎‎“We are soliciting financial support, wills and legacies, partnerships, regular contributions, building resources, equipment, materials, IT support and other resources to accelerate our building project. We also welcome contributions of time and expertise.

‎‎“Through its blend of immediate humanitarian service and long-term institutional building, the Islamic Family Foundation stands as a living example of faith translated into action.

‎‎“As it continues to heal the sick, feed the hungry, strengthen families through weekly Usrah, and raise a lasting centre of learning and worship in Wasa, the organisation invites all people of goodwill to join hands in this noble endeavour.
