India and Israel have signed 16 agreements to strengthen their strategic partnership, with provisions for 50,000 additional Indian laborers to receive visas for work in Israel. The agreements, signed during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel, cover various sectors including agriculture, innovation, technology, and defense.
“We can seize the future together. We’ve decided to have a G2G meeting in India, as soon as we can arrange it,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, highlighting the growing ties between the two nations.
The agreements include cooperation on civilian drones, satellite data, irrigation, and fertilization management, as well as knowledge transfer in advanced farming techniques. Additionally, Israel will allow 50,000 more Indian workers in the construction and caregiving sectors over the next five years.
Modi emphasized the need for robust data harmonization among government institutions to build a secure and intelligent nation. “Credible identity management remains central to effective law enforcement, crash reduction strategies, and national planning,” he said.
The visit marks a significant milestone in India-Israel relations, with trade jumping from $200 million in 1992 to $6.5 billion in 2024. Israel is now India’s second-largest trading partner in Asia.
