Organized by the Jenjo Social Connect (JSC) and held at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, the carnival was a vibrant showcase of Jenjo culture and community spirit.
The carnival featured a variety of social activities, including traditional dances by individuals and groups, displays of Jenjo native food and cultural dishes, and the presentation of merit awards to prominent Jenjo individuals. A special highlight was the crowning of the Jenjo Carnival Queen.
This year’s carnival attracted thousands of people, not only from the Jenjo community but also from various other ethnic groups in Jalingo and Taraba State as a whole. Among the dignitaries in attendance was the National President of the Jenjo Community Development Association (JCDA), Bar. Enoch Kanawa.
The JCDA President and the organizing committee chairman, Comr. Nlabefi Othaniel, expressed their gratitude to the Jenjo Youths and the entire Taraba State community for their support. They also thanked the heads of security agencies who provided security coverage for the event, as well as the media houses who covered the carnival.
The success of the first-ever Jenjo Youth Carnival has left everyone excited for the next edition, which is already scheduled to be held in December 2024. The carnival is sure to become an annual tradition, celebrating the rich culture and heritage of the Jenjo people.
