Tanzanian Bongo Flava singer Juma Jux delivered a high-energy performance on Thursday night, headlining the Detty December Fest at the Ilubirin Mixed Use Development in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The concert, held on December 18, formed part of the month-long Detty December celebrations and drew a large crowd of music lovers, returning Nigerians, and celebrities.

Tickets sold for between ₦10,000 and ₦30,000, with the event stretching into the early hours of Thursday, December 19.

The show was directed by Juma Jux’s wife, Priscilla Ojo.

Dramatic Entrance

Shortly before midnight, Juma Jux made his entrance suspended in the air with the aid of performance harnesses, descending onto the stage as the crowd erupted.

Dressed in a green sparkling outfit, the singer’s arrival immediately set the tone for the night, drawing loud cheers and phones raised across the venue.

Clips of the entrance quickly made their way onto social media, where fans shared reactions from the packed arena.

Guest Appearances

Juma Jux opened his performance with Ololufemi before moving into Do I and God Design.

A major highlight came when Nigerian rapper Phyno joined him on stage, prompting a sing-along from the audience.

Diamond Platnumz also made a surprise appearance, performing alongside Juma Jux in what many fans described as a key moment of the night.

Broda Shaggi brought comic relief with a brief performance that drew laughter from the crowd.

Earlier performances from Qing Madi, Soft Medit, Kashope, alongside hype man Dotun, helped keep the energy high throughout the evening.

Priscilla On Stage

Midway into the set, Juma Jux invited Priscilla Ojo onto the stage and performed directly to her as the crowd cheered the couple who got married in 2025.

The moment featured intimate gestures, with Iyabo Ojo and Paulo Okoye watching from the vip front row.

Priscilla later gushed, “He’s killing it back to back, and I’m so excited.” Diamond Platnumz’s appearance added star power, while Broda Shaggi’s comedic interlude lightened the vibe.

Several celebrities were present at the concert, including actress Toyin Abraham, Eniola Adeoluwa, and BBNaija Season 10 housemate Sabrina, many of whom were spotted in the VIP area.

The crowd remained energetic through the night, dancing and recording performances, despite heavy traffic around the venue, a common feature of the Detty December period.

The concert ended past midnight, but attendees lingered for after-event activities.

Juma Jux’s show set a high bar for the festival’s remaining dates, including Busta Rhymes on Friday, December 19.
