Kogi SDP Affirms Leadership, Adopts New Women Leader, Publicity Secretary

The State Executive Council (SEC) of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi State has passed a unanimous vote of confidence on the State Chairman, Hon. Moses Oricha Peters.

The vote, which was held on July 3, 2025, at the State Secretariat of the party in Lokoja, signifies total loyalty and submission to Hon. Moses’ leadership.

The SEC meeting, which was well-attended by dedicated members of the State Working Committee (SWC), LGA Party Chairmen, and relevant stakeholders, also made significant decisions regarding the party’s leadership structure.

The council adopted the replacement of the State Women Leader, who had defected from the party, and the State Publicity Secretary, who has been out of the country since early 2023.

Hajia Mariam Abubakar from Ankpa LGA was adopted as the new State Women Leader, while Comrade Ochedi Shaibu Udale from Idah LGA was adopted as the new State Publicity Secretary. Comrade O.S Udale, the State Publicity Secretary, expressed the party’s commitment to its ideals.

The SEC also reaffirmed that the tenure of the current leadership of the party in the State remains valid till April 19, 2026. “The tenure of the current leadership of the party in the State remains undisputedly valid till 19th April, 2026,” the SEC declared.

With this development, the party seems poised to move forward with renewed vigor and unity under the leadership of Hon. Moses Oricha Peters.
