Chairman Dr. Alhaji Mohammad Aboki emphasized the importance of collective effort, saying, “To whom much is given, much is expected.” He urged Board Members to discharge their duties with unwavering commitment, diligence, and a sense of patriotic obligation.

“The success of the Commission will be measured not merely by intention, but by disciplined execution and collective resolve toward the advancement of Kogi State,” he added.

Director General Dr. Alhaji Abubakar Rajab praised the Board’s unity, citing the maxim, “Where there is unity, there is strength.” He expressed confidence that the Commission would make significant strides in regulating the gaming industry, promoting transparency, and protecting consumers.

The Board issued a regulatory directive, mandating operators to adhere to laws and obtain licenses. “All operators, principals, and agents must register and obtain requisite operational licenses,” the statement read. Non-compliance will attract sanctions and penalties, including fines and potential revocation of licenses.

The Commission aims to foster a fair gaming environment, inspiring public trust and investor confidence. The Board encouraged operators to prioritize good causes, quoting, “A society grows great when its people plant trees whose shade they may never sit under.” This initiative aligns with the Commission’s commitment to promoting responsible gaming practices and contributing to the state’s socio-economic development.

The meeting laid a strong foundation for the Commission’s operations, signaling its readiness to regulate with firmness and fairness. As the gaming industry continues to evolve, the Kogi State Lottery and Gaming Regulatory Commission is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping its future.

The Commission’s regulatory framework will focus on:

– Ensuring compliance with gaming laws and regulations
– Promoting transparency and accountability among operators
– Protecting consumers and vulnerable groups
– Fostering a fair and competitive gaming environment
– Contributing to the state’s socio-economic development through responsible gaming practices

By regulating the gaming industry effectively, the Commission aims to create a win-win situation for all stakeholders, including operators, consumers, and the state government.
