The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of a criminal gang allegedly involved in cultism, armed robbery and recent killings in the Ajah area of the state.
‎
‎The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.
‎
‎According to Adebisi, the suspects, aged between 26 and 32, were apprehended during follow-up operations linked to a robbery investigation.
‎
‎She said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects had connections to robbery incidents in Ajah, Sangotedo and Ibeju-Lekki.

‎Items recovered from them included three locally manufactured pistols, one live round of ammunition, two battle axes and a Point-of-Sale (POS) machine.
‎
‎Adebisi said the suspects were still in police custody and assisting investigators, while efforts were ongoing to arrest other members of the gang and recover more exhibits.
‎
‎She added that the suspects would be prosecuted after investigations were completed.
‎
‎The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Fatai Tijani, commended the officers involved in the operation and directed them to intensify efforts to apprehend other members of the group.
‎
‎Tijani also warned cultists, armed robbers and other violent criminals that the command would continue to use intelligence-driven operations to identify and prosecute them.
