Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has announced the success of a precise security operation in Abu Salim, aimed at restoring state authority against an outlaw group. According to Dbeibah, the operation resulted in minimal losses.
“We carried out a precise security operation in Abu Salim to restore state authority against an outlaw group and succeeded with minimal losses,” Dbeibah stated. He further criticized the political elite, saying the operation exposed their hypocrisy. “Abu Salim operation exposed the hypocrisy of many political elites, who are governed by interests, not principles,” he added.
Dbeibah also slammed Khalifa Haftar, a Libyan military leader, for his past actions. “Haftar attacked Tripoli in 2019 under the pretext of fighting the militias, but he is now standing with militias against the state’s army and police,” he said.
The Prime Minister warned of an impending financial catastrophe, attributing it to the House of Representatives led by Aguila Saleh. “I warn of a new financial catastrophe being created by the House of Representatives, led by Aguila Saleh,” Dbeibah cautioned. He highlighted the lack of oversight in parallel spending, stating that it exceeded 100 billion dinars in two years without controls.
In an effort to resolve the national impasse, Dbeibah announced a forthcoming political initiative. “I will announce a political initiative within days, including three paths to resolve the national impasse,” he revealed.
