Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Nureni Adeniran, as the coordinator of his presidential campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Suleimon Olanrewaju. According to the statement, Adeniran will also serve as the Director-General of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) Governorship Campaign Council in Oyo State.
The APM recently unveiled former Oyo State Commissioner for Finance, Bimbo Adekanmbi, who served under the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
The campaign council also includes former Oyo East Local Government Chairman, Saheed Arowosaye, who will serve as deputy coordinator, while the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Demola Ojo, has been named Deputy Director-General (South).
Olanrewaju added that Governor Makinde, the APM presidential candidate, is expected to formally inaugurate the campaign council on Friday at the Conference Room of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan.
The appointments are part of the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
