The Minister for Steel Development, Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu, on Saturday convened a strategic meeting with prominent political stakeholders from Kogi East to consolidate unity and mobilize support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the next general election.
In a statement signed by Umar Isah and made available to newsmen, the Minister said the engagement was aimed at “consolidating unity, strengthening collaboration, and mobilizing support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
During the deliberations, stakeholders emphasized that “unity remains the foundation for sustainable progress.” They resolved to align efforts “to ensure the effective delivery of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, while identifying priority areas where collective action can accelerate development in Kogi East and across the nation.”
Key discussions, according to the statement, “centered on harmonizing interests and building synergy among Igala leaders.” The stakeholders agreed “on the need to take the message to the grassroots and help the people understand the rationale behind supporting President Tinubu’s second term.”
The leaders also expressed appreciation to the President for recognizing Kogi East in his administration. “The stakeholders expressed appreciation to Mr. President for recognizing the contributions of Kogi East in 2023 through the appointment of several sons and daughters of Igala extraction into his administration,” the release stated.
They “noted with optimism that more appointments are anticipated, and pledged to reciprocate this gesture with renewed commitment.”
To this end, the stakeholders “resolved to return to their respective communities and work closely with their supporters to deepen mobilization ahead of 2027 as a mark of gratitude and loyalty.”
In his remarks, Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu commended the participants for their dedication. “The Minister described their input as vital to the development of Igala land and to the continued growth of the APC,” the statement noted.
He also “expressed appreciation for the firm support accorded to him in the discharge of his responsibilities as Minister.”
The meeting, the statement added, “reflects a renewed commitment to collaboration in addressing challenges, leveraging opportunities, and advancing progress under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
