Minister Onyejeocha Expresses Condolences Over Abia State Accident I SummitPost

The Honorable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has expressed her deepest condolences to the people and government of Abia State over the tragic accident that occurred on Tuesday at Waterside, involving a trailer carrying a container of goods that fell on tricycles and a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), resulting in the unfortunate loss of lives.

Onyejeocha, a native of Abia State and the immediate Deputy Whip of the House of Representatives who represented Isuikwuato-Umunneochi Federal Constituency, described the incident as a heartbreaking tragedy that has plunged the state into mourning.

In a statement released on Thursday by her media assistant, Emameh Gabriel, the minister expressed her sincerest and heartfelt commiserations to the families of the victims of the accident, praying that God should grant them the fortitude to bear the loss and provide them with all the support they will need to overcome this moment of grief.

“I extend my deepest condolences to the governor of my state and the families of the victims of this unfortunate incident that has taken the lives of citizens who were simply trying to make a living,” Onyejeocha stated.

“My heart goes out to the families of the victims and the entire state during this difficult time. I pray that God grants us the strength to bear this loss.”

The minister’s message of condolence underscores the gravity of the accident and the profound impact it has had on the community. The Waterside area of Ogbo Hill in Aba has been shrouded in grief, and the families of the victims are struggling to cope with the immense pain of losing their loved ones.

Onyejeocha emphasized that her message of condolence should serve as a reminder of the shared humanity that binds the state together in times of tragedy.

She noted that the Waterside accident serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of safety measures. She called for renewed attention to road safety regulations and a commitment to ensuring that such tragedies do not reoccur.
