The crisis that engulfed Nasarawa State House of Assembly in the wake of electing a Speaker is now virtually at its theatre end, Gov A. A. Sule of the state has assured.
Gov. Sule while hosting Nasarawa State House of Assembly Speaker, Ibrahim Balarebe Abdullahi and other members, Monday in Lafia, stated that the unfortunate crisis rocking the House was almost over.
The governor explained that the remaining few members will soon join their colleagues to support Speaker Balarabe for normal legislative business, thereby ensuring peace and progress for the state, according to the governor, “as their constituents are eager to see their representatives representing them…”
Speaker Balarabe, who led the members on a Sallah homage to Gov. Sule, re-affirmed the commitment of legislators to the progress of the state and to support Gov. Sule in his new policy trust.
The Governor further informed the legislators about breakthrough recorded in investment front with one hundred million dollars investment in Lithium Mining in Onda village in Nasarawa Local Government Area.
The Speaker had earlier in his remarks told the governor that their mission to government House was to felicitate with him on Sallah celebration and to reassure him of firm support for good governance and policies that would impact positively on the good people of the state.
He therefore called on the people, particularly the major stakeholders in the state to marshall support for the government of the day, both at the national and state levels, as well as remain committed and respectful of constituted authorities.
