Maiduguri, Borno State – An indigene of Nasarawa State, Lucky Ovye Haruna, has made his home state proud after graduating at the top of his class from the Muhammadu Buhari University, formerly the University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID.
Ovye-Haruna, who hails from Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area, earned a first-class honor in Bachelor of Nursing Science, http://B.NSc, during the university’s latest convocation. The feat places him among the best-performing graduates in the health sciences faculty.
The journey to academic excellence began in Nasarawa. “Ovye-Haruna commenced his nursing journey with the College of Nursing Sciences, Lafia before proceeding to UNIMAID in 2018 for a http://B.NSc after completing just one session in the state-owned institution,” according to details of his academic record.
His transfer to UNIMAID in 2018 marked a turning point. Over the next years, he maintained top grades through clinical rotations, research, and coursework, culminating in a first-class degree in one of Nigeria’s most demanding health programs.
The achievement has drawn commendation from family, community leaders, and fellow students in Nassarawa Eggon LGA, who described him as an inspiration for young people pursuing careers in healthcare. With Nigeria facing a shortage of qualified nurses, Ovye Haruna’s first-class graduation adds a skilled professional to the country’s health workforce.
