Natasha, Idris HK Rally Kogites to Join PDP

…Idris HK donates N16.5m to boosts party activities

The senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, and Chairman of the Idris HK Foundation, Idris Husseini Kashim, have called on residents of Kogi State to join the People’s Democratic Party in large numbers as part of efforts to strengthen the party ahead of future elections.

They made the call on Saturday during a stakeholders meeting held at Riverton Hotel in Lokoja, where party leaders and representatives from across the state gathered to deliberate on the party’s direction and prospects ahead of 2027.

Speaking at the meeting, Idris announced a donation of N16.5 million to support party activities across the state. The funds were distributed among key stakeholders and party structures, including support for stakeholders at the state level, contributions to party structures in Kogi Central and Kogi West, as well as financial assistance extended across local government areas in Kogi East.

He described the PDP as the largest political party in sub-Saharan Africa and stressed the need for collective commitment toward rebuilding and strengthening its structures at all levels.

In her remarks, Senator Natasha urged party executives to adopt an inclusive approach by welcoming back former members willing to return to the party. She emphasized that unity remains a critical factor in repositioning the PDP as a formidable political force in the state.

The lawmaker also encouraged members to actively participate in the ongoing membership e-registration exercise, describing it as essential to restructuring and modernizing the party’s operations. She noted that early preparation, unity, and determination would be key to achieving success in the 2027 general elections.

Reaffirming her commitment to the growth of the party, Natasha highlighted the importance of grassroots mobilization, youth inclusion, and increased participation of women in politics, noting that these elements remain central to the PDP’s long-term strategy.

The meeting drew party stakeholders from various local government areas, with many expressing optimism that renewed unity and strategic planning would enhance the party’s chances of reclaiming political influence in Kogi State.
