The Nigerian Navy, on Monday, announced its 2026 recruitment exercise scheduled to commence next month.
The Nigerian Navy announced the recruitment exercise, available vacancies and how Nigerians can apply for them in an advertorial on Monday.
“The Nigerian Navy Recruitment Exercise 2026 for Batch 39 commences from 2 to 31 October 2026,” the advertorial stated.
As for how Nigerians can apply, the advert stated that, “The online registration and other recruitment processes are FREE OF CHARGE and no payment should be made at any point to anyone throughout the Exercise. Interested and qualified applicants are to apply at www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng.”
It added, “Only a single valid application is permitted, multiple online applications shall be disqualified. Applicants are to print out the underlisted documents after completion of application online: Acknowledgement Form, Parent/Guardian Consent Form, Local Government Attestation Form and guarantor’s certification form.”
According to the advertorial, those eligible for the recruitment include Nigerian citizens by birth who possess a National Identification Number (NIN), must not be less than 1.69m in height for males and 1.65m in height for females, must be medically, psychologically and physically fit, and must be free of any previous convictions on criminal grounds by a court of law.
Further guidelines for the recruitment stated in the advertisement include: “applicants with O’Level/SSCE results must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years as at 31 December 2026. They must possess a minimum of 5 credits including Mathematics and English in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB not older than 2020.”
It added, “Applicants with OND/NCE must be between the ages of 18 and 26 years while those for Chaplain/Imam Assistant and Drivers/Mechanic must be between 18 and 28 years of age as at 31 December 2026. They must possess a minimum of 5 credits including Mathematics and English in not more than two (2) sittings in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB not older than 2015.”
“Tradesmen applying for the following categories must possess Trade Test certificates as well as a credit in English Language with minimum of 6 passes in other subjects in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB not later than 2017: tailoring, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrician, painting, refrigeration and air, conditioning technology.”
According to the advertorial, the date and venues for the recruitment examination shall be communicated in due course. Successful applicants will undergo basic military training, and upon completion, will be recruited into the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.
