The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Stephen Adegbite, has called on staff of the commission to demonstrate diligence, professionalism and a commitment to continuous self-improvement in the discharge of their duties.
Adegbite made the call on Tuesday in Abuja during a capacity-building workshop organised for NCPC employees and facilitated by the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC).
He stressed that improved productivity starts with an individual’s attitude to work, noting that employees should remain committed to their responsibilities regardless of whether their superiors are present.
According to him, workers should avoid “eye service” and consistently deliver on their assignments even when there is no supervision. He said every staff member had an important role to play in ensuring the commission achieves its objectives.
Adegbite further urged the employees to uphold the NCPC’s service motto, “Service and Satisfaction”, by making professionalism, integrity and excellence part of their daily operations.
He also encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained from the training to their everyday responsibilities, stressing that learning would only be meaningful when it resulted in improved workplace practices.
The NCPC boss expressed appreciation to the NSIWC team for equipping the staff with relevant knowledge and skills, describing continuous training as essential to developing a competent and efficient workforce.
He added that personal and professional development should be viewed as an ongoing process, urging employees to regularly evaluate their performance and deliberately seek ways to improve.
