ABUJA, Nigeria – The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has extended its appreciation to the leaders of political parties for their cooperation during the council’s recent election, and urged Nigerians to enter the New Year with unity and love to tackle national challenges.
In a New Year message signed by the National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, IPAC acknowledged the judiciary as the beacon of hope for aggrieved citizens, especially in election disputes, and urged judges to discharge their duties firmly and decisively.
Dantalle reflected on the resilience of Nigerians in 2023, despite facing political tension, economic recession, and insecurity. He called for individual and national healing of relationships fractured by the 2023 general election and various community conflicts.
Looking ahead to 2024, IPAC expressed optimism about a nation that embraces its diversity and leverages it for strength and creativity. The council highlighted the tasks ahead, including combating insecurity, revitalizing the economy, improving infrastructure, and boosting living standards.
Dantalle pledged to run an inclusive IPAC administration that strengthens democracy in Nigeria. He also commended the media for its improved coverage of national issues during the 2023 elections and urged it to continue its role as a watchdog and voice of the nation in 2024.
The message concluded with a call to Nigerians to enter the New Year with pride, confidence, and courage, ready to work together to build a better future for the younger generation.
