In a message delivered by Mrs. Geraldine Ita Etuk, Acting National President of NCWS, the organization celebrated the resilience and achievements of the Nigerian people. She noted that this milestone reflects “Nigeria’s resilience, strength, and determination to build a united, prosperous, and harmonious nation.”

As the nation honors those who fought for independence, Mrs. Etuk extended the NCWS’s congratulations to the country’s leadership. “On behalf of the NCWS, I extend heartfelt congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Assembly, State Governors, and all stakeholders who have contributed to Nigeria’s progress,” she said.

The organization commended President Tinubu’s commitment to advancing women’s empowerment and revealed its plans to collaborate with the government. “We acknowledge the President’s commitment to advancing women’s empowerment and look forward to collaborating with his administration to address the pressing concerns of Nigerian women,” Mrs. Etuk added.

The NCWS also announced its partnership with Senator Oluremi Tinubu, emphasizing their shared vision. “NCWS is proud to announce its collaboration with Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to achieve the Renewed Hope agenda initiative for women, which aligns with our mission to empower women and promote gender equality.”

Mrs. Etuk highlighted the organization’s dedication to championing women’s rights, despite the challenges that persist. “We recognize the significant strides made in promoting gender equality, women’s education, healthcare, and economic empowerment. However, we also acknowledge the challenges that remain,” she said.

The NCWS reaffirmed its commitment to key initiatives that will continue to support women and girls across the country:
The initiatives include:

“Advocating for policies and programs that enhance women’s participation in decision-making and leadership.”

“Promoting girls’ education and vocational training.”

“Supporting women’s entrepreneurship and economic independence.”

“Addressing violence against women and girls.”

“Enhancing healthcare services for women and children.”

As the nation celebrates its independence, Mrs. Etuk reiterated the importance of collective efforts to support women. “We reiterate our commitment to working together with government agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector to create a society where women and girls thrive.”

In a final message to women and girls across the country, she said, “To all Nigerian women and girls, we celebrate your strength, resilience, and contributions to our nation’s growth. Your voices matter, and your participation is crucial in shaping our collective future.”
